Start with the jean rise and intended hem length.
SWAGGES style guide
Baggy denim
Baggy denim is defined by the lower-half silhouette, not simply buying several sizes larger. Purpose-cut wide or loose jeans keep the waist, rise and leg working together while giving the outfit movement.

Key pieces
- 01Purpose-cut loose or wide jeans
- 02Boxy tee, fitted top or short knit
- 03Trainer, boot or shoe with visible weight
- 04Cropped or hip-length outerwear
A repeatable outfit formula
Make the proportions work together.
Choose a top length that leaves the waist or silhouette readable.
Use a shoe that does not disappear beneath the hem.
Keep the second oversized piece controlled.
Fit and colour
Details that change the whole look.
Fit notes
Check waist security, rise, seat and hem separately. A belt can hold the waist, but it cannot correct a rise or leg shape that does not suit the intended fit.
Colour notes
Mid-blue and washed black are highly reusable. Ecru, grey and tinted denim can become the main statement while the rest stays simple.
